Today is my Grandpa Kelly's birthday. (It is also my brother Bryan's, but he didn't fight in WWII, so he is not in this blog post today.) I thought I would post this picture, my Dad scanned.
My Grandpa flew C-47's over "the hump" and had an accident where the plane was shot down and the crew ejected. He was MIA for several weeks before being found and being treated in an Army hospital in Europe. It is quite a story that surely won't get the credit it deserves on a blog like this. I am sure all of you have examples of heroism and undying character, but this man is my example. I am truly honored to share a name with such a great man.
