This year has been so busy with all the changes, that we really haven't been able to get in a solid vacation until now. So, thanks to Jenn's ever patient parents for watching the wild things. We took off for a week to the Bahamas on a cruise. In true Kelly and Jenn fashion, it was an adventure, and made for a hundred stories too involved for this post. But was a great time! Having only seen pictures of these islands, it was awesome to experience it first hand. Our cruise made three port of calls: Freeport, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay. We ended doing a Jeep tour, experienced the water park at Atlantis, snorkeled, kayaked and enjoyed some great weather before coming home to snow and rain in Utah. As usual the story board is here.
A little late on this post, but Labor Day weekend was pretty awesome. I went to Salt Lake for a weekend and had every minute jam packed with adventure. From the moment I landed my brothers were already planning a kayak/rafting excursion on the Weber River. I had never done this one before, Hayden was our 'river guide' and failed to provide the rest of us with helmets and life jackets, which could have come in handy, especially when Bryan and I got hung up in the raft and kayak and he ended up going overboard down a chute. It was pretty scary, but he popped up immediately and quickly got turned around and on the kayak that I had lost earlier. I ended up jumping on his raft. It happened pretty quick, but was a pretty wild moment. I wish I had it on video. Hayden, was a good guide though and he can rip it up on his kayak. (See video below).
The next day was an ATV ride with Nick, where we went up Farmington Canyon to Francis Peak, it was about 35 miles round trip and a great time!
After the ATV ride it was the reason I had come back to SLC to begin with and that was the Blink 182 show. My brother Brad was with me and it was an awesome show. It was good seeing the band back on stage. I am looking forward to their album later next year. It was a pretty exhausting weekend, but a lot of fun. I am glad I was able to do it all. Enjoy the pics.
This post is a little late, but I had to get it up before it gets too late. Dad, Robyn and Hayden came up for a week and Hayden for weekend. It was a fun time of fishing, chilling and the beach. The pictures say all the other thousands of words so check it out. here.
After we got back from a week vacation in Lake Powell, "Jenn asked me why is it that after a vacation, you feel like you need another one to recoup?" I, at the time was thinking the same thing. And I concluded, that she felt like that because she didn't sleep much cause of Ava up at night, and she had to get her to sleep so we didn't get kicked off the houseboat. I on the other hand was a little frazzled myself after destroying a brand new BBQ and engulfing it in flames on my night for dinner, catching some form of 'syphil-gonor-lake-rash' from what I believe was from a mud bath I had on the beach, and then giving myself a pretty good sized raspberry by going off the houseboat slide in what many would call un-orthodox fashion. I have never really never considered myself 'accident prone' but we all have our fair share of 'doozies' right? Of course, that's neither here nor there. The trip of course was awesome. Here are some photos, it was a huge blast and good times. And for the entire story board...you know where to go.
Here is Ava on the beach and with Mom.
Ava fish.
First time on the Air-Chair. That thing is pretty awesome!
Well, unfortunately meeting Tom was really random and it happened pretty sudden as we were packing up and leaving, so I wasn't able to get a picture cause he was busy with his son, but it was still pretty cool. It probably will never happen again, but it was cool to say hi to him and let him know how much I love is music.
Taking Ava to the beach was really fun, even though the water was chilly for her it was still cool to dip her toes in the ocean. Since, living here in Washington, I have not seen much sun, with the crazy weather so the having some nice rays was really nice. I think I need another vacation.
It came and went again this year, and I survived to tell about it. For the past 3 years (2006 , 2007 ) Brandon and I have been taking CES by storm and each year is full of new goodies and stories as you will see if you read the past re-caps. But as usual it was a lot of fun, walking and plenty of free useless junk. Except for a few items such as the Jawbone Blue tooth Headset which we picked up! Even though there wasn't a whole lot to write about that was especially awesome and new it was still cool to see all the companies new things and different technologies which are pretty much already out. The Flickr Pics if you are so inclined.
This past week was pretty cool because we had our regional bi-annual meetings. We always go to a different place and this time it was Portland. This was awesome cause I have never been there before. We did some cool things and saw cool things and ate good food. One day we went to an Organic Winery, and even though I am not a wine drinker, it was cool seeing their sustainable farming techniques. It was really pretty too.
We visited some other malls there and went to a pretty cool store called NAU, they only have one store now, but they have a cool business model. You should check it out. I also really liked downtown Portland, with the cool buildings and city life. Anyways here are a couple pics, with the rest at my Flickr.

Many people tell me that I have the life when I tell them I am taking a trip to Hawaii or where ever my wife and I can snag a free flight. And I guess by some standards I do. However, keep in mind that these flights are stand-by only and sometimes turn out to be quite an adventure. But when you have a day in Maui like we had today, it is all worth it. Despite some excessive wind at the beach today it was beautiful. I love the warm water, hot sun and sand. I also found a small cliff area to jump off of and that was cool. You will see in my pics that Jess and Emily jumped too, but that was after about 30 mins of convincing Jess she wouldn't hit a rock. Anyways, below are the pics and of course you can head over to my Flickr for the full effect. Tom morrow, we are heading home, so wish us luck. Aloha!
Well, this weekend is a Maui one. We arrived this afternoon and went to Makena Beach and had a BBQ with friends. There is a wedding tommorrow for one of Jenn's co-workers so that is why we are here. Since I am able, here are some pics from today. Aloha!
Well the Marathon was a success! I had a great race and was right around my best time (within 2 minutes). My Mom shaved about 10 minutes off her time. The race was a lot of fun, and great weather. Follow the link for my results.
As I promised here is the write-up for our London Trip. In short the trip was amazing as I said in previous posts. We went with some friends of ours, Marianne and Ike, so when you see another couple in some of the pics you'll know who they are.
Moving along the trip was Paris. An amazing city to say the least, I loved the architecture there. The hostel we stayed in wasn't the best, but it worked. The main sights there were: Eiffel Tower, The Pantheon, The Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc De Triumph.
The way back home was pretty interesting, but after hitting up 4 different airports we finally landed in the SLC and it all worked out. It's going to be really hard to top that trip, but we'll find a way to do it someday!
PS-I took over 500 photos, so I only uploaded some of the better ones to my Flickr page.
We made it! The trip was amazing. Lots of good stories. Stay tuned as I sort through the pics this week and give you all a full run-down. The two pics above are the first and last pics taken on my camera during this trip.
On Thursday we decided that Maui would be a whole lot better than Salt Lake this weekend. Lucky for us, the flights were looking good and by Friday afternoon we were there. It was short, but as always, sweet. The party included myself, Jenn, Jess and Brett. For only 2 days we had a lot of fun and saw a lot of things, and that all caught up to me today at work, but it's okay. Here are some pictures I took, and of course for the whole trip, click on my Flickr badge below.
Where do I start?...I know that I have been slacking in my blogging duties, but for good reason. Seeing how I was out of a PC for four months, I did the best I can. Within the last month we moved into our new townhome, went to Hawaii, got internet, put in a home theater, signed up for the San Diego marathon and much more. I will have to address those posts as I have time and pictures to do so, but you can also check my Flickr page because I will usually upload those pics first. For my pics this post I am uploading some pics from Hawaii, and some of the new house. I will post more of the exterior and other rooms later. Also, I plan on doing a full write up for my DIY home theater room, so be patient.
It's that time again this year. The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. We just finished the first day and it was really cool. It was mostly stuff similar to last year, it was just better and some extra add-ons. Here are a couple pics from stuff today. I'll post more and give a better run down of what happened.
Well after my adventures in southern California. I gotta say--it is good to be home. Even though nothing beats the San Diego weather. The trip was a blast. We hit up Sea World and we had our first Ikea experience, and ended up buying about half of the warehouse. The wedding went great and then I went over to Chula Vista to the mall and worked, it was a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun too.. These crunch crews are pretty crazy. They let me drive a fork lift the entire time if you can belive it! I hope you like pics. I'll post more on my Flickr.
You know I like to try and post about once a week, but unfortunately I've been busy and my life isn't that interesting. Well, this week for me is more interesting. San Diego...(I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore.) is always a fun place and this time I am here for over a week for both work and play. First, this weekend is Jenn's sister's wedding. We arrived today and had a busy day of Ikea, Old Town and a walk on Ocean Beach at night. Tomorrow is Sea World and then Saturday is the wedding. More to come after I get home with the pics.
And second. after the wedding festivities, I am heading across town for a week of "The Otay Ranch Crunch Crew". This involves long days and manual labor doing stuff that needs to get finished up before the grand opening for General Growth's newest mall: Otay Ranch Center. I'll have more to say about this later. Check back-
I came to Denver on Thursday this week for two days of meetings. When I was finished Ryan came and picked me up and then Jenn flew in. I had never really experienced the city of Denver before so it was cool to hang out downtown. This morning we decided to go to the Denver Aquarium. Check out the pics I took from my RAZR. I'll post some better ones some other time. I'll re-cap the rest of the weekend after I get back to SLC. LATEZ.
First of all...Maui was amazing! I loved it. Jenni and I had a blast. For being a spur of the moment trip it went pretty smooth. In 3 days we were able to squeeze in: snorkeling, Road to Hana, and the crater at 10,000 ft! I have posted some pics for your viewing pleasure. All I can say was it was too short. Now 'it's back to reality' as the saying goes. It was a nice getaway before I start my job on monday the 20th. As I come across better pics I'll post more.
